Grass-fed beef is extremely healthy for you and your family, but is heavy on the pocketbook
if you have to buy it from a health-food store. Buying from Snow Family Farm will save you
a lot of money, and because Lowline cattle are 1/3 smaller than conventional cattle, a quarter,
half, or even a whole beef will not crowd out everything else in your freezer. This enables you
to still use your freezer for other items, as well as to actually EAT your meat up within a year instead
of letting it get freezer burn as you attempt to eat the whole thing!
Obviously, smaller cuts help you to finish your steak in one sitting and not feel too full or guilty
about it! Smaller cows mean less much money spent to buy beef in bulk. When you buy beef
from Snow Family Farm, you pay us per pound for the "hanging weight" (the weight of the 1/4, 1/2,
or whole steer after it has been humanely killed and had the head, hooves, and innards removed).
Then we take your meat to the butcher, you give the butcher your specific cutting instructions.
When you pick up the meat from the butcher, you pay them a nominal slaughtering charge plus
their charge per pound (hanging weight) for their cutting/wrapping of your meat.
This is a very personal, very healthful, very economical way to buy beef.
